Hence, this study sought to improve the understanding of the instruction based on reflective thinking activities and the role of it in classroom practices at school. The findings are believed to provide information for teachers and school administrators as well as insights that may be relevant to similar studies elsewhere. At the end of the research, it was revealed that the students who were educated by the instruction based on reflective thinking activities were more successful and had higher attitude towards the course than the students who were educated by the instruction based on student guide books. Conclusions and Recommendations: The data collected from the research show that the attitudes of the students in the experimental groups which the instruction based on reflective thinking activities carried out developed more than the control groups attitude which the instruction based on student guide books applied. There was a significant difference in the academic achievement levels of the experimental and the control groups. According to these results, the instruction based on reflective thinking activities was more effective than instruction based on student guide books on developing academic achievement of students in English courses.
